Drop-In

Drop-in

Each Wednesday we hold our very popular Drop-in, which is operated completely voluntarily by group members and is regularly attended by in excess of 30 people. The Drop-in enables people who are HIV positive to meet with other positive people for social and emotional support.

In addition to the social aspect of peer support, the Drop-in provides the opportunity to access services provided by individual members of NPCT in a non-clinic environment.

In attendance we have:

  • HIV Specialist Social Worker
  • HIV Specialist Clinical Nurse
  • HIV Specific housing & benefit support and advice from Metropolitan Support Trust
  • Qualified Post-Graduate Counsellor for individual support
  • Dietician from Nottingham City Hospital
  • Additional Pastoral Support is available from The Reverend Karen Rooms

Facilities provided include free Internet access, document copying and printing plus a child-friendly play room. (Please be aware that children are the sole responsibility of parents / guardians / carers at all times).

Individual counselling, monthly group therapy sessions and Personal Development Workshops are available with our post-graduate counselor.

From January 2011, the new Tagadere Ladies’ Group will be a welcome addition to the Drop-in, to be held on the last Wednesday of each month.

We also offer therapeutic and educational excursions are part of our activities.

Refreshments and lunch are provided at a nominal charge.

Drop-In is open from 9.30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Wednesday at a wheelchair accessible venue on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre with ample on-street parking outside.

There is a regular bus service from the city centre which has stops adjacent to the premises.
